About Me

My name is Simona Galluccio.

I am originally from Italy, where I qualified as a Neuro-Psychomotor Therapist of Developmental Age at the University “Luigi Vanvitelli” of Naples (BSc);

I subsequently obtained a two-year Specialization Course in Psychomotor rehabilitation and Counselling at Ap.Psi s.r.l. (a theoretical, technical and personal training in psychomotor skills with an in-depth study of verbal and non-verbal communication techniques);

And also a MSc in Applied Behaviour Analysis and Autism at University of Salerno (UNISA).

I am a dedicated and qualified Neurodevelopmental disorders therapist with 8 years’ experience in Education, Rehabilitation, Habilitation and prevention against developmental disabilities (ages 0-18 years old).

My methodology is based on a bio-psycho-social model of disability suggested by the World Health Organisation.

My genuine approach to children is holistic, an integration between emergent functions and transversal basic functions. I consider the maturation of the person as the evolution of a set of competences, skills and complex abilities that intersect and influence each other.

The areas I take into consideration are many: functional, cognitive, physical, relational, linguistic, emotional, behavioural, etc.

Throughout my whole career in both Italy and the UK, I have had the opportunity to support several children and their families from multi-cultural backgrounds.

My focus has never been the difficulty or the disturbance, but rather the integration of skills, whether they are well developed or not.
